November 28

Math 8 classes extended yesterday's new knowledge to learn about solving inequalities using multiplication and division today. Integrated I students got a new look at algebra while learning to solve systems of linear equations.

A month from today, the holidays will be almost over, it's hard to believe!

Before I get to class "stuff" I want to post a few reminders.
1. This week is the annual canned food drive. Please encourage your student to participate and bring canned goods.
2. Our final exam will be Wednesday, December 20. We will spend lots of time in class preparing for it!

Today Math 8 students learned to solve inequalities using addition and subtraction. Integrated I students are working with area formulas and solving for the unknown variables.

I hope you all had a great weekend...this week will be short! Hooray!

Today math 8 classes will be doing a mini review over sections 3.4 and 3.5 and then taking a small quiz (4 questions) over those two sections. There is no homework.

The integrated I class will be reviewing for tomorrow's quiz today.

Math 8 students are learning about writing two-step equations from word problems...which takes a lot of practice! Integrated I students are solving inequatlities with one variable.

Today math 8 students will be taking a quiz over 2-step equations and combining like terms. Their homework is to complete the "Visual Patterns/Bingo Patterns" worksheet.

Integrated I students will be learning about solving equations with variables on both sides of the = sign. Their homework is p. 258-260 8-20, 26-28

Due to block scheduling, I will only see each class once during the next two days.

Math 8 students will be preparing for Friday's quiz over solving two-step equations and combining like terms. We are completing p. 131 3-19 odds in class and then working on Punchline p. 31 for homework.

Integrated I students are going to be learning about the distributive property and negative numbers. Homework is p. 250-254 9-20, 27, 28, 32, 33.

Today math 8 students will be learning how to solve 2-step equations while Integrated I students will be writing equations from written words. (sorry, no links today, the site is down, but visit www.classzone.com, click on math, click on middle school math, choose Missouri, then choose middle school mathematics course 3. Math 8 students will need to focus on chapter 3, section 3 while integrated I students can focus on chapter 3, section 4).
